This family is in the midst of some big changes. They welcomed a new baby boy and moved into a new home within days of each other. And they are also keeping up with a very busy big sister. Sounds pretty chaotic right? Well, it is but it is also beautiful. A beautifully chaotic and joyful time for this sweet family.
Up until just days before their session we had literally not decided which home we were going to shoot in- the new one or the previous temporary one. Mom decided at the last minute that we would be in the new one and it worked out just perfect. The nursery was put together quickly and we just worked around all the boxes in the rest of the home. Honestly, working in a home that isn’t fully moved into yet is pretty great. You have blank windows and walls to work with and everything is still pretty simple.
As I tell all my clients who are not having their first baby, a lifestyle newborn session with a sibling involved is more about the sibling than the baby. Keeping big sister happy, entertained and engaged was key. As long as we did that she was happy to play and participate. And having a happy sibling makes for great images. Seeing the arrival of a new baby through a siblings eyes is priceless and one of my most favorite things to capture!
